Junior Hockey Mandurah & Peel Region
Peel Hockey Association’s Winter Junior competitions and programs are based on School Year age groups from Year to to Year 12.
Games are played on synthetic turf and/or grass on Peelwood Reserve at the 1 venue, The Sporting Globe Stadium (Mandurah Hockey Stadium) in Halls Head, the home ground of hockey in Mandurah and the Peel Region.

Peel Hockey Association Junior Winter Competitions
For more information on Junior Winter competitions, simply select the school year age group suited to your child.

School Years 1 – 4

HookIn2Hockey is the introductory and bridging program to traditional club hockey (Junior Competitions) providing participants first experience in a fun and safe environment to develop and learn the fundamentals of hockey.
Recommended for school years 1 to 4 (Pre-primary students turning 6 this year permitted)
Playing a modified format, HookIn2Hockey program creates mixed gender teams in 2 school year age groups:
- Year 1-2’s – play 5-a-side (5 to 7 per team)
- Year 3-4’s – play 7-a-side (7 to 9 per team)
This program is held on:
- Tuesday’s 4.00pm to 5.00pm
- 20 minutes game-based drills & skills.
- 40 minutes game time.

School Years 5 – 6
J 5-6 Competition
Peel Hockey Association’s junior hockey competitions play a structured format allowing participants to play in a competitive environment against teams from other local club and participating school-based teams.
Playing a traditional game format, the J 5-6 competition creates mixed gender teams of 11 to 16-a-side. Teams generally hold 1 x training session per week at The Sporting Globe Stadium (Mandurah Hockey Stadium). Training nights vary between clubs.
Suitable for school Years 5 to 6 (experienced Year 4’s permitted)
Game night is:
- Tuesday from 5.00pm

School Years 7 – 9
J 7-9 Competition
Peel Hockey Association’s junior hockey competitions play a structured format allowing participants to play in a competitive environment against teams from other local club and participating school-based teams.
Playing a traditional game format, the J 7-9 competition creates mixed gender teams of 11 to 16-a-side. Teams generally hold 1 x training session per week at The Sporting Globe Stadium (Mandurah Hockey Stadium). Training nights vary between clubs.
Suitable for school Years 7 to 9 (experienced Year 6’s permitted)
Game night is:
- Friday’s from 4.30pm

School Years 10 – 12
J 10-12 Competition
Peel Hockey Association’s junior hockey competitions play a structured format allowing participants to play in a competitive environment against teams from other local club and participating school-based teams.
Playing a traditional game format, the J 10-12 competition creates mixed gender teams of 11 to 16-a-side. Teams generally hold 1 x training session per week at The Sporting Globe Stadium (Mandurah Hockey Stadium). Training nights vary between clubs.
Suitable for school Years 10 to 12 (experienced Year 9’s permitted)
Game night is:
- Monday from 4.30pm
