Urgent call for Nominations.

Peel Hockey recently called for nominations for Board Members for the upcoming 2019 season, with a total of 4 seats vacant.

Nomination close on Monday 1st October, if no nominations are received Peel Hockey will not be able to form a Board. Without a board, Peel Hockey will not be able to operate as an Association in accordance with its constitution into the 2019 season.

Summer Hockey 2018 | Registrations Open

Registrations are now open for Peel Hockey’s 2018 Summer Season – Term 4, played at Mandurah Hockey Stadium.

Peel Hockey’s Summer Competitions cater to junior and senior players, encouraging a social, active and family environment. Whether you have played before or interested to learn, join us in this modified game format, fielding 7-a-side, mixed gender teams, played on half pitch.

2018 Introduction to Goalkeeping Clinic – August 22

Peel Hockey are holding a Introduction to Goalkeeping clinic for junior players at Mandurah Hockey Stadium on Wednesday 22nd August 2018 from 4.30pm to 6pm.

This is an opportunity for participants to try on the gear and learn the basic fundamentals. Equipment is provided, bring your stick and mouthguards.

HookIn2Hockey Carnival | Registrations Open

Peel Hockey are seeking players in school years 1,2,3 & 4 to create representative teams to participate in a hockey Carnival held on Sunday 26th August from 9am to 1pm at Stevens Reserve, Fremantle.

Teams require 7 players for the 1-2 age group & 9 players for the 3-4 age group to be considered viable for nomination, Peel would like to nominate 2 x teams.

The Hookin2Hockey Carnival will be based on small sided games that focus on fun and maximum participation with only five players on the field at any one time for 1/2 age group and seven for the 3/4 age group.

Community Engagement Workshop

Peel Hockey invites all members, players, parents and interested volunteers to attend a community engagement workshop run by Hockey WA’s Participation Coordinator Marc Pike who has 10+ years’ experience coaching and coach education in England, Queensland and WA.

The program focuses on the engagement of youth players in participation and grassroots programs through to 12/13-year old’s. The program covers topics including coaching techniques and game and training ideas with a key focus on engagement and small sided games.

The aim
• Retain and develop players in your junior club hockey teams
• Offer positive potential changes to coach practice including the way we run coaching activities (this is transferable into senior hockey)
• Run come and try days at your club / association to grow club numbers
• Get involved in paid casual positions to coach schools in the Peel Region for Hockey WA

The program has been delivered to numerous clubs and associations from Port Hedland to Busselton since February with an aim to cover more metro and regional associations in time.

2018 Club Championships | Registrations Open

Calling all junior players in school years 7,8,9 & 10

Peel Hockey are calling for junior players to create representative teams to participate in Hockey WA’s Club Championships held during the July School holidays at Perth Hockey Stadium and another venue.

Peel would like to create teams for each of the following competitions:

9/10 Boys – Mon 2nd to Wed 4th July
9/10 Girls – Wed 4th to Fri 6th July
7/8 Boys – Mon 9th to Wed 11th July
7/8 Girls – Wed 11th to Fri 13th July

Club Championships bring teams together that travel from all over the state to participate in a round robin tournament, playing a number of shorter timed games for this event. Games are played  on turf.

Peel Hockey Board plays a critical role in the overall operation, development and promotion of hockey throughout the Peel Region.

Board members meet monthly to oversee the sport, with each board member focusing on area of Peel Hockey operations.

Peel Hockey’s turf at Mandurah Hockey Stadium will light up on Friday 4th May to open the 2018 Winter Season for the junior competitions and programs.

2018 SWJHC Bunbury Junior Carnival | Registrations Open

Calling all boys and girls in school years 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10.

Peel Hockey are calling for junior players to create representative teams to participate in the South West Junior Hockey Championships (Bunbury Carnival)on the June long weekend Saturday 2nd to Monday 4th June 2018.

Registrations Close – Wednesday 16th May 2018

Bunbury Carnival is a 3-day event where up to 130 teams travel from all over the state to participate in a round robin competition. Teams can play up to 8 games over the weekend, consisting of 2 x 15 minute halves, played on both grass & turf finishing with crossover &/or finals games on the last day.

Volunteers are required to ensure an enjoyable weekend for all, please submit your interest with your child’s registration or email Peel Hockey’s Registrar to assist with Coaching, Team Management, Team Assistant, Umpiring, Transport of equipment or players.

Carnivals are a great opportunity for children to enhance their hockey skills and an enjoyable social experience for the whole family.
